Every job, one trade
All concrete work in Skokie and Chicagoland.
Carl Johanson Sr. started this business in 1909 pouring foundations, sidewalks, driveways and patios alongside brick masonry. His son Carl Johanson Jr. established Carl Johanson & Son Construction Co. Inc. and narrowed the trade to concrete only, and that is still the whole business today. Three kinds of work below, and nothing outside them.

Commercial and industrial
Heavy and machine foundations, loading docks, handicap ramps, parking lots and heavy-duty floors, built to carry equipment and traffic rather than just foot weight.

Residential concrete
Driveways, walkways, sidewalks, patios, foundations and stairs, plus colored concrete and exposed aggregate for houses across Chicagoland and the North Shore.

Concrete stamping
Stamped concrete in over 50 different styles, with a choice of colors, designs and patterns, laid by the same crew that pours the slab underneath it.
